Partial Denture Materials
At Precision Dental, we offer three material options for partial dentures: full acrylic, acrylic with metal reinforcement, and flexible solutions. All options are available in both standard and high-impact variants, allowing you to select the most suitable approach for each case.
Flexible Dentures
Flexible dentures provide a comfortable, aesthetic, and easy-to-insert alternative to traditional metal-based partials. They are minimally invasive and particularly suitable for patients with sensitivities to acrylic or metal. However, they are not recommended where vertical clearance is less than 4.0mm or where abutment teeth present minimal undercuts. It’s also important to note that flexible dentures may be more prone to staining and odour over time, can be challenging to adjust, and do not allow for additional teeth to be added after fabrication.
CoCr Frameworks
Metal frameworks are custom-designed using a range of alloys to suit individual patient needs. Cobalt chrome (CoCr) remains the most widely used material for removable partial dentures, offering strength, durability, and a proven track record. Titanium frameworks are a lightweight, flexible, and hypoallergenic alternative; however, they require increased bulk for strength and do not achieve the same level of polish as cobalt chrome.
